Tyra in Sweden has such a tasteful and cheerful demeanor that it is always inspiring to visit her blog. Enjoyment of the simple things, but with a sophisticated presentation that gives you a little distraction and something to learn, along with the most beautiful pictures and her delightful personality. What is not to like?

Here is a clip of one of her posts- it explains a bit about the traditional barn red, and why that color is used in Sweden.
Falu red or in Swedish we call it Faluröd is the name of the beautiful Swedish, deep red paint well known for its use on wooden cottages and barns. The paint originated from Falun in Dalarna ( copper mine) , Sweden. The traditional colour remains popular today due to it’s effectiveness in preserving wood it is absolutely fantastic. Easy to paint and it doesn’t smell.

If you are interested in American Barn Red…. check my past post on the subject,Why Are Barns Red?. So many of our traditional barns are disappearing, which is really a shame. I’m so glad Tyra took her pen and camera to help display some of the beauty of barns in Sweden.
